I am very excited to introduce you to my brand new book!
Some of the stories were written over a decade ago, while others came together only within the last year. It has been a true labor of love and quite possibly the most personal creative project I have ever completed and put out into the world.
Part memoir, part essay journal, it’s filled with humorous stories about growing up and embracing the sometimes difficult, unexpected journeys in life. If you decide to go on this adventure with me, thank you so much! I truly hope you enjoy every page.
SYNOPSIS: This book is a collection of funny and heartfelt personal essays that begin in Southern California and follow my journey from building backyard tree houses and discovering “super powers“ to finding a love of theater and traveling the globe. It is full of stories about my parents and family as well as crazy tales that capture the magic of meeting a 25 foot tall hungry Giant who lives in a cave in Kansas.
At the heart of the collection is a candid look at the unexpected years spent caring for my mother after the sudden death of my father. I try to do this with careful honesty and humor. These stories are about the painfully funny and terribly complex side of caregiving, including the difficult emotions I rarely admit out loud.
Overall the book is a personal love letter to my parents, the years growing up in Huntington Beach, my family, my friends, my love of theater and Acting, and to that 25 foot tall giant, with big round eyes and sharp ugly teeth, who had an insatiable appetite for imagination!
